Respect Environnement Group (REG) joins the CREER BIM-EC project, launched in Palermo and co-financed by the EU through Interreg NEXT Italy-Tunisia. This trans-Mediterranean initiative aims to rethink road infrastructure using BIM and circular economy principles. REG brings its expertise in construction waste recycling to support sustainable and intelligent infrastructure development.
On June 19, 2025, Palermo hosted the launch event of the CREER BIM-EC project, co-financed by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT Italy-Tunisia Programme. On this occasion, Respect Environnement Group (REG) had the honor of representing Tunisia alongside its partners committed to building a more sustainable future.
An Innovative Project to Rethink Road Infrastructure
CREER BIM-EC,”Chaussées pour la Récupération de l'Eau, de l'Énergie et des Ressources avec la méthodologie BIM pour l'application de l'Économie Circulaire” aims to transform traditional road infrastructures into intelligent, sustainable, and circular systems.
The project is built on three main pillars:
- The use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) as a planning and management tool,
- The integration of circular economy principles in the choice of materials and resources,
- The implementation of sustainable technologies for the recovery and reuse of water, energy, and construction materials.
A Promising Trans-Mediterranean Cooperation
This project is part of a collaborative dynamic between Italy and Tunisia, bringing together actors from the public, private, and academic sectors. The project partners are:
🇮🇹 University of Palermo – Department of Engineering (Lead Partner)
🇹🇳 Respect Environnement Group (REG)
🇹🇳 ENIT – National Engineering School of Tunis
🇹🇳 AFH – Land Housing Agency
🇮🇹 Engineering & Safety Srl
Together, these institutions are working to develop innovative and sustainable solutions adapted to Mediterranean contexts, while promoting skills exchange and dialogue across both shores.
REG: Field Expertise Driving Innovation
As a leading player in Tunisia in the field of construction and demolition waste recycling, REG brings to the project its hands-on experience in materials recovery, circular logistics, and flow traceability.
Our involvement in CREER BIM-EC fully reflects our commitment to an ecological transition of the construction sector and our determination to contribute to smarter, more responsible, and more resilient infrastructure.
